It details the etymology, distribution, physical characteristics, and ecological significance of the species. The red mangrove’s unique root structures and its role in coastal protection against erosion and storm damage are highlighted. Additionally, the document discusses the threats posed by climate change, invasive species, and unsustainable management practices. Historical and medicinal uses of the red mangrove are also covered, emphasizing its importance to both natural ecosystems and human communities. Original publication date October, 1999.
