Snapbean production in the Suwannee Valley occurs on sandy soils that are highly vulnerable to nitrogen leaching, making efficient fertilizer management essential for both crop performance and environmental protection. Controlled-release fertilizers (CRFs) offer a potential strategy to improve nitrogen delivery by synchronizing nutrient releases with crop demand while reducing losses to groundwater.
