Abstract
This document provides an overview of the Sycamore Maple (Acer pseudoplatanus), a large deciduous tree commonly reaching 40–60 feet in height. It describes the tree’s physical characteristics, growth habits, and adaptability to various soil types and light conditions. The species is noted for its coarse texture, moderate drought tolerance, and high salt tolerance, making it suitable for large open spaces rather than small landscapes. While generally pest-resistant, it is susceptible to trunk and branch cankers. The document also outlines its invasive potential and cultural requirements for successful management.
